Well Water System Repair and Replacement

Many folks in and around Okeechobee rely on a well to provide clean, safe water to their homes. Though it often goes without thought, a water well requires maintenance, like any other appliance, in order to ensure proper functionality. At Domer’s, we’re proud to not only be a comprehensive solution for well drilling, but for maintenance and repairs as well.

Here are some signs that your well system needs attention:

  • Low production – A decrease in well performance is often marked by a noticeable drop off in water pressure or the amount of water available at a given time. This can be caused by a worn out pump, leak in the system, or debris buildup in the well piping.
  • Decreased water quality – Sediment or other pollutants in your water is a sure-fire way to tell that there’s an issue with your well. If you begin to notice unusual smells, tastes, or colors coming from your water, you may have a filtration issue or other problem with your well.
  • Short cycling – If your well pump cycles on and off rapidly or seems to come on for no reason, you may need repairs. A normally functioning pump should cycle every 30-90 seconds, and shorter cycles often represent damage to the pressure switch, tank, or pump itself.

Well Maintenance

Chances are your well will need some sort of maintenance in its lifetime, but by doing the following, you can keep repairs to a minimum.

  • Inspect the well casing periodically to ensure it is properly positioned at least 40-centimeters above the ground – or the minimum height recommended by the well installer.
  • Periodically inspect the well casing seal and cover for damage and correct installation.
  • Keep contaminants like gasoline, fertilizer, or pesticides stored away from the well.
  • Visually inspect for leaks on a regular basis.
  • Make sure all well vents are screened and not obstructed.

Domer’s has been in business in the Okeechobee area for nearly a century, and our knowledge of well water system maintenance in the area is unmatched. For questions about our well drilling services, call us today at xxx-xxx-xxxx.
